The

Boseman

Residence

After living in East downtown Houston for 3 years, the Boseman’s have decided to renovate their home to accommodate their growing family and changing environment. The Boseman residence is designed to be a retreat from everyday life and provide a deep connection to nature and the great city of Houston, Texas. Fresh air, natural light, and the fragrance of organic vegetables breeze through the home with ease. With three generations within, the design of the home allows them all to come together and connect or distance themselves when needed. Thin lines, subtle earth tones and random pops of natural colors and patterns set the tone for a light, airy and peaceful environment.

LEED Strategies

The Boseman’s are a multigenerational family of six and are planning to renovate their home. When purchasing their home 3 years ago the home fit their needs, but recently quite a bit has changed. The Senior Boseman’s are moving to Houston from New Orleans and in with the family. However, the Global Pandemic has affected everyone within. They are now running their organic café at home, selling home grown vegetables for profit, as well as working and schooling from home. This new normal has placed the opportunity in front of them for expansion into the neighboring lot. However, a SUSTAINABLE home is their top priority.

Some of the goals they have expressed are:
• A more energy efficient home
• A toxin free environment
• Utilizing materials and systems that are “Green”
• Reducing waste
